The entire Malibu C Hair Care Collection is color friendly! Malibu C Wellness Shampoos are formulated without the use of sulfate surfactants, which can cause color to fade. The Malibu C Wellness Remedies gently remove mineral buildup from the surface of the hair. Any element —including color — that attached on top of the mineral buildup has the potential of being removed as well.

To ensure successful removal of mineral buildup and therefore successful deposit of your color, we highly recommend you have an in-salon Crystal Gel Treatment or process a Color Prepare Wellness Remedy at home to ensure color is not being deposited on top of mineral buildup instead of on your hair.

No, we do not test on animals nor use any animal by-products. Malibu C products are certified cruelty-free and 100% vegan! 

Vegan indicates that we use no animal by-products, nor do we test our products on animals. It is important to many of our customers that their hair care is cruelty-free.

Sulfates surfactants can cause color to fade and both sulfate surfactants and sodium chloride (salt) can dry your hair and make it appear lifeless.

Yes, Malibu C products are very gentle and may be used daily, if desired, as they are formulated with only the highest quality wellness ingredients. Additionally, Malibu C Wellness Remedies are formulated with a patented vitamin complex.

Yes, the entire collection of Malibu C is safe to use during pregnancy.

Malibu C products are completely safe to use on infants and toddlers as they are formulated with wellness ingredients. Malibu C products are also safe to use on pets, as well. As with any personal care product, they should be kept out of the eyes.

The Malibu C Wellness Remedies do not “strip” color; however, if you have mineral buildup on your hair, there is a possibility that any color attached on top of those minerals would come off with the remedy.

We recommend an in-salon Crystal Gel Clarifying Treatment or the Color Prepare Wellness Remedy prior to your color service to ensure your color is attached directly to your hair and not minerals.

You may use Miracle Repair as often as desired! We recommend using it as once a week as your second step of your Mini Malibu Rehab, following your customized Wellness Remedy.

In many cases, people are able to tell if they have hard water by visually seeing mineral buildup on their shower heads or in their sinks, tubs and toilets. If you see a film on your shower door or a crusty buildup on your faucets, imagine what that mineral buildup is doing to your hair!

You may also use a Water Hardness Test Strip to determine the level of hardness. Even if you don’t feel your water is “hard” or you do not see any visual signs of hard water, tiny dissolved solids of minerals are still hiding in your hair.

While water softeners do exchange magnesium and calcium out of your water, they don't protect against other elements in your water. Anyone who uses water needs Malibu C!

Even with a water softener, there are minerals hiding in your water. If you have copper or iron pipes, your water travels through and picks up tiny amounts of these elements. If you live in a municipal water area, your city water may have large amounts of chlorine!

Additionally, your water softener itself deposits salt into the water, which can also build up on the hair and cause hair to feel dry, dull and listless.

Yes, you can still use all of the Malibu C products with a keratin treatment; however, we recommend not using a heat source at the time of using a Wellness Remedy as the combination of heat and the vitamin formulated in the Wellness Remedy could potentially break the bonds of the keratin. The Wellness Remedy processed without heat will not affect the keratin.

Yes, you can still use all of the Malibu C products if you have a Brazilian Blowout; however; we recommend not using a heat source at the time of using a Wellness Remedy as the combination of heat and the vitamin formulated in the Wellness Remedy could potentially break the bonds of the keratin. The Wellness Remedy processed without heat will not affect the keratin.

If your hair had mineral buildup at the time of your henna service, then the henna did not deposit into your hair but rather the mineral buildup in your hair.

The Malibu C Wellness Remedy could potentially lift the henna when removing the mineral buildup that the henna is attached to. Therefore, we recommend doing your Wellness Remedy prior to your henna service to ensure there is no mineral buildup that the henna can attach on to. This will also ensure a more vibrant, longer-lasting henna.

Each Wellness Remedy packet is formulated for single use with the precise amount and percentage of ingredients necessary for superior results. Therefore, we recommend using an entire packet at least once a week.

Additionally, the vitamin complex formulated in the Wellness Remedies can oxidize very quickly when exposed to air and sunlight. This is why each Wellness Remedy is packaged in a hermetically-sealed packet to prevent the fresh vitamin crystals from being exposed to air or water until you’re ready to activate it for potent, powerful results!

Complete saturation of your hair with the Wellness Remedy is important for successful results. If your hair is extremely long (waist-length or longer) and you feel that one Wellness Remedy packet is not enough to cover your entire hair and scalp, you may activate a second Wellness Remedy packet to ensure full coverage.

There is no harm in using the Wellness Remedy on white or non-pigmented hair. The reason we state this is because the vitamin in the remedy will fill the voids in the hair where pigment would be. 

We recommend shampooing the remedy out of white, non-pigmented hair with Un-Do-Goo shampoo (pH 9+) to thoroughly remove the vitamin from the hair.

If the vitamin is not properly removed, it may begin to caramelize when exposed to air or heat. Similar to browning sugar on a stove top, the vitamin will begin to turn a pinkish-brownish hue.
